Maintenance Operator

Role Overview
CarboCode SA (www.carbocode.com) is a biotechnology company based in Biocant Park, Cantanhede, specializing in the development of technology for biomolecules, including oligosaccharides, glycoconjugates, glycolipids, and glycoproteins. We are equipped with a pilot plant for fermentation, downstream processing, and biocatalysis, enabling us to perform scale-up activities and prepare for larger-scale production.
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Operator to join CarboCode’s Technology Transfer Center in Biocant Park.
As a Maintenance Operator, you will join the Engineering & Maintenance Department and a multidisciplinary team in Cantanhede to ensure the integrity, reliability and performance of all equipment and installations, while collaborating to accomplish safety and quality standards and fulfill our company’s vision, goals and policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform corrective, routine and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Collaborate with the Head of Maintenance to develop and implement maintenance and calibration plans, schedules and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts.
• Ensure compliance with safety/quality regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
• Support the optimization of existing technologies and contribute to the selection of new production technologies.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and address any maintenance-related issues promptly.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Role Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance is preferred.
• Training in mechanical maintenance is preferred. Additional electrical maintenance training is valued
• Basic skills using computers and MS Office Intermediate understating of English for reading technical manuals and communication.
