The main mission of the Fundação g7+ Lisboa motto: From Public Policies to Practice (From Policy to Practice – PtoP) and promote the reflection and discussion on peace.
The Fundação g7+ Lisboa develops its activities in Portugal, Timor-Leste, São Tomé and Príncipe, Guinea-Bissau, Afghanistan, Burundi, Chad, Comoros, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Haiti, Yemen, Solomon Islands, Liberia, Papua New Guinea, Republic Central Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, and Togo. As well as in any other country where its Board decides to considers convenient.
The Fundação g7+ Lisboa thus aims to enhance and support the activities and the mission of the g7+ Secretariat, as well as its Member States, with a view of implementing measures to promote the improvement of the living conditions of citizens living in countries affected by conflict and fragility, through an inclusive dialogue, sharing of experiences among Member States and ensuring the application of measures that will reverse fragility and allow the construction of a path towards resilience and sustainable development.
The work of the Fundação g7+ Lisboa also focus on the education and professional training of citizens, on the promotion of human rights and missions of humanitarian support, on the promotion of conflict prevention and resolution, on the promotion of European and International dialogue, on the promotion of innovation entrepreneurship as well on the promotion of measures aiming at combating any form of illegal discrimination.
The main functions of the new General Director will comprise, amongst others, to (i) determine, together with the Board, the annual and pluriannual objectives, strategies, policies and programs of the Fundação g7+ Lisboa; (ii) to assist the Board in preparing and managing the annual budgets, control expenses, ensure efficient use of resources and participate in fundraising road shows, fundraising for all projects of the Foundation g7+ Lisboa; (iii) to plan and coordinate the Fundação g7+ Lisboa; activities; (iii) to participate in Board meetings when requested to analyze, evaluate and discuss the Fundação g7+ Lisboa activities and performance; (iv) to assist and secure implantation of the execution of any projects carried out by the Fundação g7+ Lisboa in any of the Member States, (v) to represent the Fundação g7+ Lisboa (when needed) at official meetings with Governments, Member States, international organizations and maintain diplomatic relations at a senior level; (vi) undertake and lead track two diplomacy initiatives where required (vii) and to ensure a lead role in negotiations in the field of external relations and financial support/fundraising, with national authorities, private sector, international organizations and Member States.
Availability: immediately to start.
Experience: At least 20 years’ experience, working experience in at least two g7+ Members States Countries and Master or PhD level.
