Robotics Electronics Engineer

Planet Farms, founded in 2018 in Milan, is a leading vertical farming company. We are on a mission to transform agriculture. We are currently present in the main distribution chains with our line of salads and pesto. Today the company has 90 employees at the production plant in Cavenago di Brianza, the R&D Center in Cinisello Balsamo and the Office in Milan, Portugal, UK & Netherlands and it’s growing quickly in Italy and abroad.

We are looking for an Electronic Engineer to work in a small team of software, mechanical and electronics engineers. This team is designing all sorts of robots to fly, climb or drive autonomously in highly dynamic environments. You will give them life, making them move autonomously to acquire all sorts of data and deploy them at Planet Farms vertical farms.

Activities:
● Develop & program electronics for robots
● Deploy them in real environments
● Investigate new technologies for sensors

Soft Skills:
● Intrinsic motivation with a fundamental love for science and robots.
● Ability to learn and adapt quickly
● Feeling comfortable working in team with a multicultural environment
● Willingness to travel abroad (short assignments)
● Good English knowledge (written and spoken)

Technical Skills:
● Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related technical field.
● Printed Circuit Board design
● Firmware and Software: Python, C/C++, ROS, OpenCV, PCL
● Software development tools: Github, Docker, etc
● Communication protocols: Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, CAN, PCIe, I2C, SPI
● Electromechanical elements: Sensors, Actuators
● Past experience within robotics/electronics at hobbyist clubs, or competition teams is a plus
